Industrial Hygiene Project Manager

Forensic Analytical Consulting Services (FACS) is one of the largest and most diverse Industrial Hygiene consulting groups in the country. We provide asbestos, lead and mold surveys; indoor air quality evaluations; occupational exposure monitoring; health and safety plans; water management programs; litigation support; and a variety of other industrial hygiene and environmental consulting services. We service the industrial hygiene & environmental health needs in multiple industry segments including general contractors, property management, healthcare, commercial/industrial retail, insurance providers, schools/universities and government.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Project Manager for our San Diego, CA office. The successful candidates will have at least 5 years work experience as a Project Manager managing in industrial hygiene and safety consulting; including, assessment asbestos, lead, microbial agents; indoor air quality assessment, or other Industrial Hygiene Investigations.

Project Managers are the primary contact with potential and existing clients and are responsible for proposal generation, managing project budgets and generating final reports and remediation specifications. Additional responsibilities include performing on-site surveys, inspections, assessments, abatement oversight and monitoring and auditing of safety procedures and applicable regulations associated with industrial hygiene and environmental projects.


  •  BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety, Biological or Physical Science is preferred. (or 10 years relevant experience is an acceptable substitute for a degree.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager and/or experience successfully managing large and complex projects in at least one area of our service lines offered.
  • Valid CA CAC (certified asbestos consultant) certification
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand client objectives and apply these objectives in developing SOW for projects that meet customer expectations and delivers maximum value to both Client and FACS.
  • Effective, professional and clear communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility in work schedule and willing to travel to different project locations, as needed.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and NetSuite.
  • Experience in using ERP software with Project Management and CRM features a plus.



  • Maintain relationships with clients and grow business from existing customer base.
  • Refer opportunities for new service lines within existing accounts and/or new customer opportunities to the appropriate FACS sales representative.
  • Make and log customer service/business development calls in NetSuite.
  • Prepare proposals and budgets for projects.
  • Forecasting revenue over 90-day period.
  • Attend job walks, pre-construction job walks and attend meetings with potential and existing clients.
  • Review project scope and select tasks and deliverables.
  • Field calls from potential and existing clients with ability and knowledge to answer questions.
  • Review project drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Perform field investigations, monitor project budgets, monitor field personnel activity and quality.
  • Scope, turn-around time, client interaction, timing and rates.
  • Prepare and review reports for projects.
  • Meet the targets specified in the Incentive Compensation Plan.
  • Work with Supervisor to establish personal operational goals.
  • Provide leadership and management to the assigned team of Vendors, PCs ,and Technicians.
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed by the Director.
