As we continue to grow we are in search of an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (EHS) based out of our Farmington Hills, MI office who will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health and safety initiatives, policies, and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations throughout the organization.

As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHS) you will:

  • Collaborate with management to create and implement policies and procedures related to both staff and vendor safety protocols.
  • Travel to communities throughout the RHP portfolio to conduct safety inspections, train, and monitor for safe work practices.
  • Provide technical and administrative support on safety initiatives.
  • Monitor and correct unsafe work practices that could harm employees, vendor staff, or equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Conduct research on safety topics, address safety concerns, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of safety through actions and messaging.
  • Conduct employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Review safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee and vendor compliance with safety regulations.
  • Review accident and incident reports. Investigate cause and recommend prevention measures.
  • Maintain and present reporting for management and institutional partners on serious injuries and safety issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental safety, safety engineering, or another relevant field 
  • Minimum 5 years occupational health and safety experience in a field environment required; manufactured housing, construction, or related industry preferred
  • CSP or ASP certification
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct training
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to travel by air. Travel estimated at 40-50%
  • Strong team building and leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
