Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

Position: Director EH&S

Direct Reports: 3 EHS Managers, 1 PSM Engineer

Reports To: Global Manufacturing Director

Salary Range: $125k to $145k DOE

Bonus: 20%

Job Responsibilities: Global Director of Environmental, Health & Safety will be responsible for setting, leading, and executing the corporate strategy across the EHS disciplines including: Safety, PSM, Environmental, Occupational Health, Wellness, Chemical Management, Fire Protection, and Compliance worldwide manufacturing, technology development, product development, and office environments. Role reports directly to the Global Manufacturing Director and have direct site management reports (3 EHS Managers, 1 PSM Engineer).

  • Set the vision and drive EHS excellence across the company.
  • Ensure regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements meet or exceed requirements.
  • Proactively plan and manage EHS objectives to ensure there is no impact to operations or the company's strategic objectives.
  • Prioritizes EHS programs and corrective action plans implementation.
  • In case of any accident/incident, conducts investigation and root cause analysis and defines in collaboration with the site the corrective action plans.
  • Drives the implementation of proactive quality management system and practices across relevant sites in line with local regulations and industry requirements.
  • Measure and monitor EHS benchmarks, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet company-wide goals and drive best in class results. Drive the implementation of programs and initiatives to foster a strong EHS culture.
  • Deliver and continuously improve EHS management systems and global compliance programs.
  • Manage, Lead and where required implementation of PSM process and program(s).
  • Identify and coordinate training to meet regulatory requirements and improve EHS awareness & performance across the company.
  • Set the vision and strategic direction for the EHS organization.
  • Plan, resource, and direct activities in the organization to meet schedules, standards, and cost.
  • Key interfaces: ensures tight coordination with Plant Managers, EHS Managers, PSM Engineer and the Executive Team.



  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related degree required.
  • Master's degree and/or relevant professional certifications are a major plus.
  • 10+ years leading best-in-class EHS programs including regulatory, audit, and compliance standards in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years' progressive leadership experience, with minimum 5 years' managerial experience desired; group level staff positions with a history of leading and developing a diverse, geographically distributed, multidisciplinary management team and employees.
  • Ability to travel globally 10-15%.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to build respect and influence at all levels.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors.
  • Fosters a team culture in which safety, operational excellence, and results orientation are the foundation.
