What you’ll do
The EHS Manager is responsible for compliance and risk management for ISO-, Federal Agency Standards and permits regarding Environmental, Safety and Health. This person will lead and oversee the implementation of preventive and/or corrective measures, equipment, training and education necessary to ensure that Wieland Thermal Solutions meet and/or exceed the requirements of federal, state and local regulations, codes and/or laws and company policies and procedures (ISO 45001,14001). This position will drive the EHS culture throughout the organization, leading by example and setting the tone with a behavioral based improvement approach that EH&S are of highest priority in our company.

  1. Develops, publishes and raises general level of awareness of safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations, ISO 45001 & 14001 standards and company policy
  2. Conducts hazard and job safety analysis to ensure proper use of machinery and equipment, personal protective equipment, and procedures.
  3. Develops, oversees and performs training of employees/contract associates, managers/supervisors and other employees in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements and specific job requirements.
  4. Responsible for compliance of documentation and review of work procedures and machine guarding to ensure compliance with OSHA and ISO Standards 45001 & 14001
  5. Facilitates EHS incident reporting system, assessing root causes, and working cross - functionally to resolve.
  6. Develops, reviews and revises company standards, policies and practices as necessary to ensure they are current and in concert with company and / or regulatory requirements such as OSHA and ISO Standards.
  7. Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  8. Organizes and coordinates emergency response, evacuation and crisis management plans.
  9. Investigates observations and accidents to ascertain causes in order to develop preventive safety measures and programs with a heavy focus on a behavioral based safety approach.

What you’ll need

  1. Bachelor degree (B.A.) in Environmental, Health and Safety – required
  2. 2+ years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience – Required
  3. Experience in EHS Management of a Manufacturing Site – required
  4. EHS Management System expert – preferred
  5. Experience in implementation of a Behavioral Based Safety Program – preferred
