EHS Specialist
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will maintain records and conduct inspections to ensure compliance to health, safety, and environmental regulations and drive continuous improvement in EHS under the guidance of the Facilities Manager.

Requirements

· Conduct scheduled inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety and health requirements.

· Maintain MSD and chemical inventory documentation

· Create and maintain LOTO documentation

· Monitor the proper handling of chemicals, waste, and other environmental hazards.

· Monitor facility environment including air and water quality.

· Monitor the presence of hazardous pollutants that may pose a threat to public health and environments.

· Coordinate waste disposal, scrap, and recycling contracts and act as primary contact for related vendors.

· Implement environmental protection regulations and health standards as required at Wagner facilities

· Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.

· Submit EHS permits, reports and other documentation as required by local, state, and federal regulations and act as first contact for related inspections

· Maintain contracts with appropriate vendors where outside monitoring is required or preferred

· Participate on safety team as a high-profile advocate for EHS concerns

· Maintain RoHS documentation and provide declaration for sales department when requested

· Coordinate and monitor activities of contractors.

· Recommend and facilitate Continuous Improvement projects related to energy consumption, waste reduction and safety.

· Assist facility maintenance team as needed

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

1. Associate degree in Environmental Science or related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

2. One to three years of related experience preferred.

3. Three to five years of Windows office experience/expertise.

4. One to three years of ERP experience is preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.

· Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access and the Internet
