Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor

Position Purpose & Summary:
 
Maintains and implements Cargill Protein Safety Regulatory Programs and ensures OSHA compliance.
 
Principal Accountabilities: 

  • 50% - Reviews safety programs and ensures documentation supports program deployment and compliance
  • 25% - Audits facility for compliance (such as:  confined space, elevated work, chemical storage, etc…)
  • 15% - Provide education and consultation to employees and managers
  • 10% - Data analysis and collaboration with external and internal contacts to determine trends and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years or more of EHS experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to deal with conflict
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office Excel, Work, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to multitask
  • Able to present to large groups at all levels
  • Willingness to relocate
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to walk/stand at least 3 hours per day
  • Occasional travel required
     
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Risk Assessments or Root cause mapping
  • Industrial or maintenance related experience
  • Experience dealing with government agencies
  • Experience with negotiations
  • Experience or background in Ergonomics
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or safety related field from an accredited college or university
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish/Karen or Somali
