Environmental Specialist
Scottsdale, Arizona

Your Impact

As Axons Environmental Specialist it will be your mission to protect the environment, by properly managing waste, emissions, and our carbon footprint. In a effort to Win Right you will also be responsible for mitigating environmental liabilities through policy development, training, implementation, and enforcement, ensuring all protocols are followed appropriately and all risks are reduced or eliminated. The Environmental Specialist is a key role within Axon, supporting the growth of the company while maintaining compliance and effectively managing environmental impact along the way.

What You’ll Do

Location: Onsite at our Scottsdale, Arizona office fives days per week
Reports to: EHS Leader

    • Manage waste from all US facilities
    • Respond to and investigate incidents involving materials spills and releases, to ensure proper clean up and corrective action.
    • Manage all environmental permits and maintain the associated requirements including inventories, manifests, inspections, permit thresholds, monitoring, etc.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental programs to ensure compliance with Axon policy and applicable regulation.
    • Train employees on corporate and site-specific procedures and policies, including pollution prevention, energy reduction, waste streams, permit requirements, etc.
    • Enforce rules and regulations to ensure company policy is followed and work is performed in accordance with company guidelines.
What You Bring
  • Five or more (5+) years of industrial environmental experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science OR equivalent years of experience
  • Required technical and analytical skills
    • Vendor/Supplier Management
    • SWPPP & Air permit management
    • Waste Management
    • Policy development and implementation
  • Advanced computer-based skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • RCRA Regulation and Compliance Certification w/recent Annual 8hr Refresher Certification
  • DOT Hazmat Certification
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour General Site Worker w/recent Annual 8hr Refresher Certification
