Health & Safety Manager [KC-11106]

A Fortune 500 manufacturing organization is seeking a Health & Safety Manager for its 400-employee, union facility in the Waco, TX area.

Reporting directly into the Plant Manager, but with a dotted line into the Regional H&S Manager, this role offers an excellent opportunity to have an immediate, tangible impact to H&S performance and culture at plant level, for an industry-leader within their sector. 

The Role:

  • Responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs across the plant
  • Working closely with site leadership to establish specific goals and objectives for health and safety performance, and implementing effective action plans, initiatives, and improvement projects accordingly
  • Leading H&S audits, training programs, and developing programs and processes around areas such as LOTO, machine guarding, PPE and hazard communication.
  • Serve as leader of the plant safety committee, and leading the facilitation of a proactive safety culture across the site, where employees are fully engaged with the company H&S program and approach


The Candidate:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in H&S management within the general manufacturing industry; ideally candidates will have 5-10 years of experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is essential; ideally this will be in a safety, health, industrial hygiene, or related discipline
  • Ideally, candidates will have recognized credentials and certifications, such as CSP, CIH and CHMM, or evidence of working towards these
  • A proven track-record of leading H&S programs at plant level within industrial manufacturing, and achieving tangible improvements to site H&S culture and performance
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership skills, and the ability to educate and influence successfully with both plant leadership and the shop floor.
