Industrial Hygienist

GHP is seeking an energetic, self-motivated problem solver for our Environmental Team. Position will be based in Florida with projects located throughout the state.We are looking for all levels of experience.

Job duties include site investigations, field studies, water assessments, and other environmental monitoring. Candidate should have or be willing to obtain AHERA certification, Asbestos certification. Candidates need to be energetic, flexible, self-motivated and dependable. Must have reliable transportation. Strong leadership skills and a solid technical background. Must be willing to travel.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Conduct various tests and analyses to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases
  • Collect samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis.
  • Investigate adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
  • Conduct evaluations of exposure to ionizing and nonionizing radiation and to noise, and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
  • Perform industrial hygiene filed measurements and safety evaluations.
  • Assess work place for occupational health hazards by observing work conditions, assessing records, conducting interviews, sampling, and monitoring chemical or physical agents.
  • Determine appropriate monitoring and sampling strategies, if indicated, and conduct these activities.
  • Maintain, operate, and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment.
  • Evaluate and interpret monitoring and sampling results, makes determination, and develop corrective strategies.
  • Prepare accurate and complete technical reports of survey findings, and provide recommendations on how to correct hazardous conditions.
