Industrial Safety Engineer

The Industrial Safety Engineer (ISE) will develop and implement procedures, guidelines, and methods to promote and ensure industrial safety and health. The ISE will identify unsafe or potentially unsafe situations. The ISE will be proactive and engaging with the workforce at all levels of the organization.

The position requires spending most of the time on the production floor interacting with employees and organize safety training to educate company staff on necessary safety principles. Liaise with the quality control department of a company to determine if a finished product is safe for customers. Develop and implement safety, procedures, and policies for production operations. Carry out investigations to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe condition on a work site.


  • Tours the facility and communicates with workers to identify and eliminate safety risks and concerns.
  • Conducts risk assessments and site inspections to identify work areas that post threats to the welfare and safety of employees.
  • Adopts a proactive approach to provide a safe working environment.
  • Provides training and guidance to employees.
  • Uses Values Based Safety principles to engage employees to participate in proactive safety practices daily.
  • Provides expert guidance on best practices for identifying and eliminating exposure.
  • Conducts investigations on incidents, complaints, and recurrent health cases to identify and provide solutions in the workplace.
  • Maintains accurate records and provides reports to various regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders on the health of the program.
  • Implements events to celebrate success and introduce new programs to keep the safety initiatives “fresh”.
  • Assists the Safety Manager with training on safety requirements annually and on an as-needed basis.

Academic Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Technology, Risk Management or related field required.
  • Certified Safety Professional status preferred.


  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Extensive experience in Values Based Safety required.
