Occupational Health Nurse/Manager

Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Occupational Heath Manager located in downtown Denver, CO, our headquarters office.

The purpose of the Occupational Health Manager role is to provide and deliver health and safety programs and services to JM workers. The Manager Occupational Health is responsible for promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards.


  • Work with the JM Wellness Specialist to design programs that support positive lifestyle changes and individual efforts to lower risks of disease and injury and create an environment that provides a sense of balance among work, family, personal, health, and psychosocial concerns
  • Work with JM Legal on compliance with regulations and laws affecting workers and the workplace in array of state and federal regulations put forward by OSHA or laws affecting the workplace, such as FMLA or HIPAA
  • Work with division health and safety and industrial hygiene groups to recognize and identify hazards
  • Monitor, evaluate and analyze these hazards by conducting research on the effects of workplace exposures
  • Gather and use health and hazard data to select and implement preventive and control measures as a continual process
  • Develop and administer policies and procedures related to employee health
  • Conduct occupational health audits at North American facilities and assist with safety audits if necessary
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned



  • Bachelor's Degree (with a preference RN, PA, NP, LPN, LVN or COHN)
  • Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience (occupational health experience preferred)
  • Successful Project Management experience
  • Strong workers compensation case management and safety experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven analytical and quality improvement ability
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Moderate travel required (11 - 29 days per year)
  • Work environment is typical of an office setting. Work environment for occupational and safety audits is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Health Care Administration preferred
  • First Aid teaching certification preferred
  • Safety certification preferred
