Safety & Environment of Care Manager 1295

Our client is recruiting for a Safety Manager in Grand Forks, ND, job 1295. This is a full-time position as an employee of our client and relocation assistance possible within the US. 

There is never any fee or contract for a candidate.  All fees are paid by our corporate clients who have hired us to find you! 

Job Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible to align Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and Workplace Safety processes exceed regulatory compliance and to engage employees to promote behaviors that will achieve the highest levels of productivity in the safest possible manner.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • All potential candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
  • Five (5) or more years of Safety Management experience within a healthcare facility
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with regulations and best practices issued by federal, state, local and accreditation bodies including, but not limited to, OSHA, EPA, TJC, and NFPA
  • Demonstrated experience with implementing, improving and maintaining Environment of Care standards and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge in development of Job Safety and Job Hazard analysis (JHA and JSA)
  • Demonstrated experience with Emergency Management in a Healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated success leading accident / incident investigations
  • Demonstrated success managing a departmental budget

Additional Preferred Competencies: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
  • Professional Certification (CHFM, CSP, CIH, etc.) from a nationally recognized organization
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related discipline

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with site leadership and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding interpretation of federal, state, local and accreditation body regulations
  • Aligns corporate and local Safety and Environment of Care goals and strategies
  • Lead Safety audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state, local and accreditation body representatives
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiative regarding Safety and Environment of Care policies and programs
  • Manage budgetary responsibilities
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, local and accreditation body regulations
  • Lead employee training programs regarding Safe Working behaviors and compliance
