This position will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and delivery of workplace health and safety related programs and services. They will ensure that all health and safety program are delivered collaboratively with departments through a combined centralized/decentralized model of health and safety experts. As a key part of the Human Resource team this position will actively lead and participate in a variety of projects, initiatives, programs and services. This position will use their personal leadership to contribute to building a strong workplace culture across the Company with safety as a core value.

  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of all safety policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations including the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 29 CFR 1910 (Cal OSHA) for California Olive Ranch
  • Provide strategic and operational advice to senior leaders, managers and supervisors to enable them to effectively carry out their perspective health and safety responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to coordinate corporate and department resources to support compliance with federal and state legislation and mitigate risk to the Company
  • Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of all aspects of the health and safety program and services, including evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Develop, implement and maintain an online safety tracking system
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Writes up reports detailing inspection process
  • Understanding of simple fact finding and analytical tools for root cause identification
  • Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in accordance with applicable laws
  • Responsible for reporting workers’ compensation injuries and illnesses
  • Responsible for annual reporting as mandated by federal and state laws
  • Maintain the Company’s OSHA 300 log

  • Bachelor’s Degree in safety management or relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience
  • Policy and program development experience
  • Ability to work varying hours, some weekends, and varying schedules
  • Valid California Driver’s License
