Safety Manager

MissionProvide leadership and support for Sabert Corporation’s safety program within our New Jersey plants and warehouses. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build awareness of safety at Sabert through continuous communication strategies at all levels, such as real time-walking/instructing on the floor, bulletin board postings , signage, safety topics of the month, safety newsletter, seminars, etc
  • Assist with the creation and implement all necessary safety policies and procedures for US facilities
  • Comply with all OSHA and other related regulatory requirements for documentation and reporting
  • Conduct safety audits
  • In conjunction with the Director of EH&S, develop and execute comprehensive site safety training program
  • Develop annual calendar for all required OSHA safety training
  • Conduct and document thorough accident, incident, and “near-miss” investigations, and provide recommendations for process, procedure or equipment changes to eliminate future occurrences
  • Provide leadership and direction for cross-functional site safety committee
  • Perform job hazard analyses, citing specific hazards in manufacturing and methods for remediation
  • Administer and report the proper safety metrics and measurements to Sabert leaders
  • Evaluate current safety rewards and recognition program for potential improvement
  • Administer all required emergency evacuation drills.
  • Actively seek improved safety practices through bench marking and active participation in Safety related seminars and organizations.
  • Work closely with independent contractors on site to ensure proper safety practices by their employees. Administer contractor safety program.
  • Assist the Director of EH & S to develop and implement comprehensive environment, health and safety



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
  • Safety Administrator, Safety Engineer or equivalent in a process manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of three years related experience
  • Ergonomics, human factors, or industrial engineering background preferred
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to develop comprehensive safety strategy
  • Able to positively influence others. Project a positive image within the organization, as well as externally
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and meet established deadlines
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literate
