Traveling Corporate Safety Director

For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Traveling Corporate Safety Director will drive a world-class safety culture in field, shop and office environments.

  Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and manage a team of Safety, Quality Assurance and Quality Control individuals
  • Document safety and job-specific paperwork as assigned
  • Inspect and complete safety operation inspection forms and submit completed paperwork as required
  • Plan, develop and coordinate the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment and environments to achieve safety effectiveness for the Company
  • Develop division-specific safety SOP’s, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure that federal, state and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed
  • Work with shop and field staff to pro-actively identify job-site safety issues and monitor activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation of activity that would constitute an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment
  • Conduct timely safety inspections
  • Periodically lead safety toolbox meetings to oversee adherence to company safety policies
  • Visit 6 to 8 job sites per week

Position Qualifications:

  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Must have a working knowledge of all job-specific operating procedures
  • Must also be extremely quality conscious and detail oriented
  • 5+ years of leadership/foreman experience
  • Must have excellent leadership, interpersonal, team-building and influencing skills
  • Must have the ability to research, interpret and implement safety regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability for own actions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Dependable and trustworthy
  • Basic Computer skills
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 preferred
